BIO
“With a warm, golden wind that channels the pristine side of Erykah Badu, she's the archetype of the classic neo-soul voice – a little jazz, a little hip-hop, all clarified butter. In fact, this nightingale is one of the purest singing voices to emerge from here in a while.”
-Bao Le-Huu, Orlando Weekly
Kristen Warren is a Jazz/neo-soul singer and songwriter, dreamer, thinker and mother living in Melbourne, Florida. Her heart lives in song. That is what you will realize from the first notes you hear her sing. “NO ONE but your momma has to listen to your music.” This is the creed by which vibrant and soulful musical artist Kristen Warren plies her craft. Though her mother is undoubtedly a fan, Ms. Warren's inspired compositions continue to entrance her audiences. With an EP due to be released in 2022, and summer tour plans under the pen, she is ready to make her inimitable mark on the world.
Kristen has been singing for audiences since the age of 7. Since then, she has performed at countless venues and events. Kristen has graced the TED stage in NYC to sing alongside female emcee MyVerse about the issue of global warming. In November of 2021, Kristen had the honor of headlining the annual Space Coast Music Festival. Other highlights include the Dr. Phillips Center (2016), Florida Music Festival (2015 and 2016), Fringe Festival (2018), JAZZOO (2019), Immerse Festival (2021), Brevard Jazz and Wine Festival (2021) and Momento Music Festival (2021). Kristen has recently joined the roster of SOFAR sounds, performing 7 times in 6 different cities including SOFAR Atlanta and SOFAR NYC. She sang back-up for American Idol contestant Robbie Carrico. In 2017, she starred as Billie Holiday in a sold out run of the stage production “Lady Day at Emersons Bar and Grill.”
As befits her depth of emotion and introspective nature, the influences behind her musical aspirations are likewise emotive and thought-provoking. Though noticeably divergent from her inspirational forbears, each note hints at the eclectic styling of Lauryn Hill, the alluring jazz of Ella Fitzgerald, the brilliant vitality of Stevie Wonder and the lyrical wit and sultry delivery of Amy Winehouse. Life and passion pervade every line and syllable in, to use her words, the outpouring of her very soul.
In the past, Kristen Warren's music has been an eventful and exciting adventure: her fans, dear friends along to share the wonder and magic. Now, with the upcoming album and tour, it all comes full circle. And while Kristen embraces us with her voice and her music, She urges us all to “go for it. Do it. Be it.”
